The Braiding With A Twist program is a platform for teens ages 11-17 to explore their feelings, learn about themselves, and dream about their futures. Classes are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:20 p.m. Sign-up for our free program is on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Professional braiders instruct teens on basic braiding and wig-making skills, and industry professionals provide workshops on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, health and nutrition, self-care, and well-being.

 

Teen braiders receive a free braiding kit, valued at $150, which includes braiding and wig-making tools, supplies, a wig head, a journal, a canvas bag, and a Braiding With A Twist t-shirt. At the end of the 10-week program, teens celebrate their personal growth and accomplishments at a graduation ceremony.
