Braiding With A Twist Salon Academy Inc., dba Braiding With A Twist, registered as a 501C-3 nonprofit organization in February 2022.

 

From the founder’s vision, Marlo Jenkins created a free 10-week braiding program to offer 100 at-risk teens ages 11-17 the opportunity to learn braiding skills and participate in workshops on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, nutrition, and healthy foods, health and self-care, and mental well-being— all opportunities that Marlo missed growing up as an impoverished teen from South St. Pete.

Your donation of time as a program volunteer or serving on a committee will strengthen Braiding With A Twist’s operations and advance our mission, making a significant difference in the lives of at-risk teens.

 

Contributions of cash cards or cash donations to Braiding With A Twist will directly support our educational programs, providing participant materials, classroom supplies, and graduation celebrations.

 

Your generous donation to Braiding with A Twist helps offset the costs of our free 10-week braiding program and enables us to continue offering this transformative program for teens. With your donation of—

• $27 covers an application processing fee.

• $150 sponsors a braiding kit with supplies and equipment for one teen.

• $250 buys one hot meal for a class of 25 hungry teens.

• $500 pays for one graduation celebration with food, drink, and decorations.

• $2,500 provides a $100 bonus for 25 teens graduating from the program.

 

Each donation will ensure that every teen going through our program will have access to information, tools, and skills that enable them to be productive members within the community.
